MediaGeniX hosted the meeting on 18 December. Thanks for the drinks and snacks!

Getting good acceptance tests

Critics of XP say you can't put a specification on an index card. There's simply not enough room.

XP fans respond: a UserStory? is not a specification. The AcceptanceTest? is the specification.

How do you write/implement an AcceptanceTest?? Who writes the AcceptanceTest?? When is the AcceptanceTest? written? What do you use an AcceptanceTest? for? Can you always automate every AcceptanceTest?? Would you want to? Is there an overlap or contradiction with UnitTest??

Several speakers told about their experience with AcceptanceTest?. Mostly about their problems, their attempts to AcceptanceTest?s to work, their questions. Very few definitive answers.

Acceptance testing is one of the ways of communicating with the customer. How you go about it will depend on the customer you're working with. In any case, you need to build trust.
