Agenda
We can start with an informal introduction of all people present. It's the first time, so it will probably take enough time already.
Please think about the following questions:
- What do you want to drink?
- Who are you?
- What do you do or want to do with XP?
- Why are you here?

Meeting notes
Everybody introduced him/herself and gave a description how they used/wanted to use ExtremeProgramming. About one third of participants were doing XP, one third introducing XP practices, one third had not done XP yet.
A lot of questions arose, a few answers were given. Answering all the questions will give us enough to do for a few meetings. An overview of the questions follows.
We will set up an XPBEMailingList. We can use the list and this wiki to discuss XP things and to try to find answers to all these questions.
Next meeting ( XpBeMeeting14092001 ) will be held in Leuven on 14/09/2001 together with the Dutch XP group http://www.xp-nl.org
Questions raised (you can add answers)
- What do you dislike about XP? What doesn't work?
- How do you deal with bugs? How do you track them? How do you schedule their fixing?
- How do you balance short term goals (delivering stories) with long term goals (ensuring the consistency of architecture and design)?
- How do you deal with distributed teams?
- Does shared code ownership work? Does it work for frameworks?
- What if people in the team don't get along?
- Do you document code? If so, how and how much?
- Has anybody had too many (unit) tests? How do you deal with it?
- How long does it take to run your unit tests? Do you have unit tests for database stuff, model stuff, user interface stuff?
- Anyone using refactoring tools?
- Which languages do you use?
- Smalltalk, Java, C++ (really!), VBScript (I'm not kidding!)
- HowDoYouStartWithSmalltalk ? The answer is in the question.
